Grand IFFMH Award for Guillaume Nicloux

Bleeding, twitching, dying bodies in homoerotic aesthetics

We honour genre tamer Guillaume Nicloux! With his films such as ›In the Shadow of the Woods‹ and ›Guardians of Life‹, Nicloux effortlessly oscillates between the varieties of the most diverse genres. One particular exclamation point in his oeuvre: his 2018 drama ›To the ends of the world‹ starring Gaspard Ulliel and Gérard Depardieu, in which he shatters genre and masculinity stereotypes. The film can be seen twice today: At 7:15 p.m. at Stadthaus N1 in Mannheim and in Heidelberg at 6:30 p.m. at Luxor 2. At the screening in Mannheim, Nicloux himself will be present to accept the Grand IFFMH Award.

In ›What do we see when we look to the sky?‹ by Alexandre Koberidze, it's about Lisa, a pharmacist, and Giorgi, a football player, who are separated by a curse. The film was involved in our 2020 Cutting Edge Talent Camp, our work-in-progress platform. You can see the film and talk to the team at Gloria today at 20:30.
