Cutting Edge Talent Camp

Our CUTTING EDGE TALENT CAMP offers support for outstanding projects and talented filmmakers from Germany as they take their first steps towards international networking and production.

The Cutting Edge Talent Camp is a ten-day hybrid coaching programme for young directors and producers who have studied at a German film or art school and are currently in various stages of development, financing and post-production of their first or second feature film.

The Talent Camp offers participants the opportunity to meet key players in the international film industry and gain insights into pitching, festival, co-production and market strategies. The programme also includes masterclasses and film screenings. Programme managers from film festivals, international sales agents, distributors and producers from all over the world are among the experts who supervise the talents and give them initial feedback on their projects.

The Talent Camp is funded by MFG Baden-Württemberg, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) and the Schwiete Foundation. It is organised in cooperation with Mannheim Next and the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg.

Experiences of our alumni

"I took away a lot from the two days of round table discussions. Learning from the experts and finding out how the industry works and what is important was very valuable for my project."
- Maritza Grass, producer and CETC 2024 participant

"I learnt a lot from the other filmmakers. And also just from being in Germany but being connected to so many mentors from outside Germany. Also the International Coproduction Space was really helpful for me."
- Berthold Wahjudi, director and CETC 2024 participant
