Films that are also worth watching at home

Many a person will cast imploring glances upwards in the face of the current Corona numbers and ask the Almighty to rain down some sanity. In our sanitised IFFMH STREAM, Georgian filmmaker Alexandre Koberidze responds to the question ›What do we see when we look to the sky?○ with a declaration of love for cinema and football that would surely send the domestic saints of film history into raptures. The film is a romantic fairy tale and draws from the film history bag of tricks with both hands.

Even when Martin Hawie and Laura Harwarth's film almost menacingly states ›The future is a lonely place‹, a home cinema evening will not be a dreary affair either. For in this revenge thriller, the directing duo combine a precise character study with consistent suspense cinema that ends where a German drama must end: in the forest.

And if you still feel like participating from your couch at home, Caroline Pitzen's ›FREIZEIT oder: das gegenteil von nichtstun‹ will inspire you to get politically involved. In it, the filmmaker portrays five Berlin youths planning demos and actions and discussing gentrification, sexism, racism and the capitalist meritocracy.

For all those who can and like to be there again live in the cinema, we have compiled our daily tips. We ask you to to observe our currently valid hygiene rules, so that very soon ›Große Freiheit‹ reigns - those who missed the film with us can catch up with it in the cinema as of tomorrow.
