When filmmakers are subjected to reprisals or are persecuted for their work, it’s not just a restriction of artistic freedom – it’s often a very concrete existential threat. We talk about the acute situation in Afghanistan and Iran with an actress and two directors who live in exile and are personally committed to democracy and human rights.
