Our special guests at the 72nd IFFMH

We welcome many international stars and guests to the festival

We are expecting many international guests again this year. For our opening film ›Day of the Fight‹, we welcome director Jack Huston, who you may know as an actor from Ben Hur and Boardwalk Empire. We will also be joined by the lead actor of the opening film, the well-known method actor Michael Pitt, and cinematographer Peter Simonite.

We are also looking forward to our guests of honor, French cinematographer Agnès Godard and Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, who will give insights into their work in masterclasses. The masterclasses are free and open to all.

Director Wei Shujun from China will also be coming to the festival to present his new film ›Only the River Flows‹. Iranian director Ali Ahmadzadeh will also be present. After he was not allowed to travel to the Locarno Film Festival in the summer, we are all the more delighted that he will now be coming to the IFFMH to present his film ›Critical Zone‹, with which he won the main prize in Locarno. Canadian director Pascal Plante will also be coming to the festival, together with the leading actress of his film, the great Juliette Gariépy. ›Red Rooms‹ is a highly suspenseful thriller that will keep you glued to your seat!

In our program you will also find two German contributions, for which we expect guests: Claudia Rorarius will come with cast and crew to her film ›Touched‹. Henrika Kull will present her film ›Südsee‹. Two films that offer space for questions and discussions.

For our acting panel on November 18, we are expecting actor Lars Eidinger as well as the two actresses Antje Traue and Hanna Hilsdorf, who will talk about their profession.

You can meet all these guests - and many more - at the festival and ask your questions in film talks after the screenings!
