German Documentary Film Award

An award ceremony to be proud of! As part of our festive award ceremony on 13 November, this year's German Documentary Film Awards were presented for the first time in three categories at the Karlstorbahnhof Heidelberg. The members of the main jury were Adriana Altaras, Stefan Eberlein, Saskia Kress, Dunja Ramadan and Martin Thür. The music documentaries had their own jury with Fola Dada, Rainer Homburg and Jan Heck. The main prize, worth 20,000 euros and donated by Südwestrundfunk (SWR) and Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg (MFG), went this year to film director Daniel Abma for ‘Im Prinzip Familie’. You could also see this sensitive documentary about children and young people growing up in a residential group at our festival.
We are delighted about the cooperation with the German Documentary Film Award and are already looking forward to next year's joint event.
