Masterclass: Trine Dyrholm

Trine Dyrholm has appeared in more than 80 films since 1990. Her career began at a time when Danish cinema was moving into the international spotlight. She later worked internationally, including in Germany. Our conversation will draw on this wealth of experience. We also want to go into greater depth and discuss the details of individual roles and her practice. Referring back to our 2023 retrospective: what is her method? When developing her characters, does she place greater emphasis on deep psychology or the craft of acting? One thing is clear from her filmography: actors are also authors, and through their craft they are “co-writers” of each film. Not least in this respect is Trine Dyrholm a virtuoso.
