When the nurse Maria meets the paraplegic Alex for the first time, there is an immediate erotic spark. Driven by their need for closeness and their curiosity, the two soon begin a sexual relationship, defying all the rules. Almost in disbelief, the plus-sized Maria discovers her own lust, while a new perspective on life opens up for Alex. However, the closer they grow to one another, the deeper they fall into a maelstrom of mutual dependence, humiliation and power. In the interplay of proximity and distance, they push each other to their limits – and beyond. Until the very end, the viewer is kept on the edge, wondering whether the two will find a way out.
