In Thomas Vinterberg’s drama about the 1968 generation, the desire for community clashes violently with individual needs.

At first, it is the news anchor Anna (Trine Dyrholm) who practically pushes her husband Erik into setting up a commune in an inherited villa. But when Erik begins an affair with the student Emma, who then moves into the house, the conflict between her outwardly lived tolerance and her private emotions almost breaks her down.

Two decades after his great classic ›The Celebration‹, in which Trine Dyrholm, as the waitress Pia, was an external observer of the family drama, this time Vinterberg places her at the emotional center of the story. For her performance, she received the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 2016 Berlinale.
