Young, fast and direct cinema from France that provokes and challenges by looking at the big questions of the present through the incorruptible eyes of teenagers.

Friends Amina, Djeneba and Zineb are fifteen years old and inseparable. When Zineb becomes the victim of a sexual assault, the three teenagers decide to frame the perpetrator with a cell phone video – and they succeed. Without consulting the others, Amina posts the video online. What was intended as a way to stand up for Zineb soon triggers a snowballing chain of events. Every existing certainty – among the friends, their families, and eventually the entire neighborhood – is called into question. - Without ever talking down to its protagonists, this cinematic and extremely confident debut takes a crystal-clear and uncompromising look at the burning issues of our time: MeToo, migrant identity, the sometimes invisible power dynamics of class, and the very visible ones of social media.

Director

Nora el Hourch was born to a Moroccan father and a French mother – this is a cultural identity that she shares with her protagonist. Her thematically related short film ›A Few Seconds‹, from 2015, screened at Cannes as well as Toronto, where her debut feature was one of this year’s big discoveries.
