A woman in Colombia is haunted by mysterious hallucinations. Palme d’Or winner Weerasethakul takes us on an intense contemplation and exploration of the world.

One night, out of nowhere, she suddenly hears a strange explosion. In the latest feature by Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Tilda Swinton, known from such films as 'Suspiria' and ›Only Lovers Left Alive‹, plays a British woman in Colombia who sets out to understand what is happening to her. Driven by the quiet energy of an unquenchable thirst to know more, she roams the streets of Bogotá, the halls of a university and the depths of the jungle. Jessica's awareness is very clear, but slowly she begins to doubt her senses. Increasingly, her memories don’t match other people’s. For example, those of her sister, whose hospitalization is the reason she is here. Jessica begins a journey into the realm of the unfathomable, where she encounters people who do not seek contact with the outside world. Creating breathtaking visual and aural worlds, ›Memoria‹ invites us to train our own gaze and to be present in the cinema.
