How fascinating modern love is! This dramatized interview with Marguerite Duras’ final companion is as profound as it is entirely credible.

38 years younger and gay was the man with whom the writer, screenwriter and filmmaker Marguerite Duras spent the last decade and a half of her life. His name was Yann. His historical interview, in which he talks about the famous author and his love for her, is dramatized here. In between, we are shown archived film scenes and footage of Duras herself. At the heart of the film, however, is the interview that leads us into the emotional depths and psychological precipices of a modern relationship. A love that shatters what we consider normal. Categories of masculinity and femininity, heterosexuality and homosexuality, age and youth, dominance and submission are thrown into flux. A love freed from the shackles of convention attains new possibilities, both delightful and disturbing. This film proves that the past still has exciting new things in store for us!
