Nightmare or wish fulfilment? A grumpy television weatherman wakes up to the same day over and over again and, thus, finds a new future.

In a rotten mood, the cynical TV weatherman Phil Connors travels with his team to the small town of Punxsutawney to report on Groundhog Day. No sooner is the event over that he wants to get out of this provincial backwater, but an approaching snowstorm forces him to stay another night. When he wakes up, he gradually realizes that the new day is in fact the same as the previous. He finds himself stuck reliving that one day again and again.

Bill Murray’s superstar status was cemented by this role as a weatherman trapped in time who discovers a new perspective on life. A brilliant comedy and one of the defining films of the 1990s.
