The end of a romance – ›Dustin‹ reveals a new talent in French queer cinema.

A techno party in an old warehouse. Dustin, a trans woman, and her friends celebrate to the point of excess. But in the course of the night, the mood is dampened and Dustin begins to have doubts about the feelings of her gay partner, Felix. Daytime brings the truth to light and Dustin also has to fight a battle of self-assertion within the queer community. In her short film debut, director Naïla Guiguet tells of the challenge involved in asserting one’s identity. Against the backdrop of brutally thundering techno beats, she sensitively paints a haunting portrait of an outsider in search of acceptance and gives authentic insight into the LGBT party scene. A trip as wild as it is melancholic.
