A teenage girl can’t change the course of world events. But she can stand up to the violence around her. And how! A testament to female resilience.

Pristina, Kosovo, the late 1990s. As the war slowly begins to loom, ethnic tensions escalate, and 13-year-old Dua struggles to find her place among her peers. Following an incident that shakes her community, she herself becomes a target. She befriends the fearless Maki, who inspires her to embrace an unexpected form of resistance. With violence everywhere and exile looming, there is little room for quiet, personal acts of rebellion. But Dua refuses to give in or be brought down.

Blerta Basholli’s second masterpiece was submitted for Oscar consideration.
