A queer party promoter becomes a father against his will: this year’s surprise hit at Cannes is causing a sensation at festivals worldwide.

Peter (played by the director) leads a dissolute life at the heart of Manhattan’s party scene. The shock is therefore all the greater when little Arlo shows up at his loft one day and is revealed to be Peter’s son, conceived during an especially wild party night ten years earlier. Suddenly, for the first time in his life, Peter has to take real responsibility – not only as a father, but also in a budding relationship with the social worker Oscar (Diego Calva).

With his debut, Jordan Firstman delivers a warm-hearted family story that doubles as a tribute to New York and its gay subculture.

For his debut feature, the multitalented Jordan Firstman was not only the director, he also wrote the screenplay and took on the lead role. A director, stand-up comedian, and musician, Firstman is an advocate for strong and authentic gay characters in cinema who first garnered attention for his role in ›Rotting in the Sun‹ (2023).
