A lesbian woman brings her supposed new partner to her family’s New Year celebration and finds herself caught in a storm of emotions. A moving love story about a well-intentioned lie and its consequences.

Lei shares an apartment with her partner Li Bei in Hong Kong. Her bourgeois parents are not supposed to know. When Lei is invited to her family’s New Year celebration, wanting to avoid the usual probing questions, she impulsively asks her tattoo artist Yao to come along and pretend to be her partner. Although Li Bei has agreed to the plan, she remains skeptical. She wonders why a mere acquaintance would agree to do Lei such a big favor. At first, everything goes smoothly at the event. But then something unexpected happens. Furthermore, Li Bei suddenly turns up and Lei is faced with a major social and emotional challenge.

A touching love story about mutual trust and the often difficult path on the way to coming out.
