The burning wish for a child and an unwanted pregnancy – portrayed in a wondrous, moving way as two sides of the same coin.

The story of two women. They could not be more different and they will also never meet, and yet they are bound by an invisible thread. Nunzia, a young woman from a modest background, becomes pregnant unintentionally. Left completely on her own, she faces the difficult question of whether to keep the baby. Maddalena, on the other hand, lives a comfortable life and has long wished for a child with her partner, but their efforts have been in vain.

Told with great tenderness for the inner lives of both women, the film slowly builds towards a climax that brings their stories together.

Director

Elisa Amoruso first studied literature and later screenwriting – in Rome, where her film is also set. She has directed feature-length documentaries and series episodes for Netflix. ›Be Loved‹, which premiered at the “Giornate degli Autori” in Venice, is already her fourth feature.
