FIPRESCI Award

With this award for an outstanding film in the competition ON THE RISE, the jury combines the goal of promoting cinematic art and encouraging new and young cinema.

The jury of the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique (International Federation of Film Critics/ FIPRESCI) consists of three international film critics. The FIPRESCI has been represented at the film festival in Mannheim (today Mannheim-Heidelberg) since 1960. The IFFMH is one of the first film festivals in the world to have a jury of film critics.

Nataliia Serebriakova

She is an Ukranian Film Critic, writes for Korydor.in.ua, Delfi.lv, Cineuropa.org, Cargo. Serebriakova was the editor of kinoart.ru (website of magazine Iskusstvo kino) from 2014-2016 and Curator of Kyiv Critic`s Week in 2018. She is member of Union of Ukrainian film critics since 2018, program manager of Scanorama Film Festival since 2022, programmer of Ukrainian Days at La Cinematheque Francaise at 2022 and Golden Globes Voter since 2023.

Michael Ranze

Westphalian by nature, studied theatre studies and sociology in Erlangen. Freelance writer for Filmbulletin, filmdienst and Ray, occasionally also FAZ. He was hooked on cinema by Alfred Hitchcock and has been a lover of Italian, Japanese, British and French cinema ever since, as well as Hollywood, of course. Member of the FIPRESCI juries in Warsaw, Montreal, Locarno, Venice, Toronto, Sofia. Member of the Fedeora juries in Karlovy Vary and Haifa.

Roberto Tirapelle

Roberto Tirapelle is a film critic and music scholar, currently based in France. He was the founder of the Cineclub Lumière in Verona and of the monographic cinema series Sequenze. He collaborates with two online newspapers "Mediartenews" and "Il Basso Adige". He has written some books on cinema and music and collaborated on many publications. He curated the exhibitions “Cinema sotto le stelle” (9 editions) and “Cinema e Lavoro” (9 editions) and “Infinitamente Cinema”. He is a member of the Syndicat Francais de la Critique de Cinéma.
