Jérôme d'Estais is the Berlin correspondent of the French magazine La Septième Obsession. He has published several essays on Jean Eustache, Andrzej Zulawski, Barbet Schroeder, Jeff Nichols, Hal Hartley, Kathryn Bigelow, Ira Sachs and Paul Schrader, as well as a history of French cinema from the perspective of actor politics. He received the Prix Transfuge for the best film book of 2021 for his essay on Leos Carax. He is also a novelist and screenwriter.
