A woman refuses to follow the rules of patriarchal society in Bangladesh.

Rehana Maryam Noor works as an assistant professor at a university in Bangladesh. She is a widow, mother and doctor – her life is a full-time job. One evening, when she sees one of her students running out of the professor's office in tears, Rehana does everything she can to solve the incident and bring the perpetrator to justice. Director Abdullah Mohammad Saad's camera never leaves Rehana's workplace, creating a claustrophobic space within which her anger and despair escalate. In this chamber film, the images are charged from the very beginning. Actress Azmeri Haque Badhon is the brilliant center of the film.
She becomes a spectacular mouthpiece for this muffled, desperate cry for justice.

Director

Abdullah Mohammad Saad was born in Bangladesh in 1985. He studied at the university in Dhaka. After several short films and commercials, he made ›Live from Dhaka‹ in 2016, which was screened at numerous festivals. ›Rehana‹ is his second feature film.
