Iceland´s top domestic box-office producer/director, Ágúst Gudmundsson, will kick off the Co-producer Session with his take on "Advantages and Difficulties in Co-Production between Small and Big Countries."
This session, where every production participant is encouraged to pitch in their ha´pennyworth of news from their home fronts, thus sharing information of benefit to all, will line the "small countries" (Iceland, Lithuania, Uruguay, Jordan, possibly Cyprus et al) up against the "larger brethren" (UK, Germany, France, Norway, Brazil, Netherlands, Bulgaria etc.), to see who offers what in 2012.
The update on co-production from Canada will come from the experienced Elizabeth Yake(www.truewestfilms.com) while busy Rula Nasser, producer of "Transit Cities” in the 2011 Mannheim Festival Line-up, will talk of working in Jordan.
Kaisu Isto, a Film Commissioner from the Finnish Film Foundation will give her take on present co-production with Finland from a funder’s point of view. As one of the production consultants at the FFF, Kaisu also greenlights co-productions.
Pavlina Jeleva (www.geopoly-film.com) will expound on domestic advantages for co-production in Bulgaria, amply drawing on her experience of the 7 feature films and feature-length documentaries she has co-produced so far, while Rasa Miskinyté (www.erafilm.lt), relaxing from her exertions in co-production with Japan, will update on Lithuania.
Ana Tipa will talk of Uruguay, while Jeremy Nathan will follow with his upbeat relation of present-day feature production possibilities in commercials paradise South Africa.
