Mannheim-Heidelberg, the 5th of November 2018. The 67th International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg presents 55 productions from the 15th of November until the 25th of November. 15 productions of the ‚International Newcomer Competition’ program are competing for the ‚Grand Newcomer Award 2018’. The competing films come from 25 different countries, among them are productions and co-productions from Albania, Afghanistan, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Australia, Belgium, Brasil, Chile, China, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greenland, Italy, Iceland, Iran, Yemen, Canada, Kirghizia, Morocco, Macedonia, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Turkey, Uruguay and the United States of America.
‚In this year’s program you can find films from 25 different countries. And in all of them you can feel the origin of their histories: The lives, the languages, the ways that people treat each other are very authentic. You are visiting your neighbours around the globe. Your neighbours present themselves in such an open, forthright, direct and humane way through these films out of their living environments, so sustainable and impressive, it barely works out that well in real life, for example while travelling’, says festival director Dr Michael Kötz.
Tickets can be purchased at the pre-sale at Paradeplatz in Mannheim and at the festival information point at Theaterstraße, corner to Hauptstraße in Heidelberg and online at https://tickets.iffmh.de.
