FESTIVAL ACADEMY
Everybody tries to find one's luck in the vibrating international film industry.
In a way, it's often a case of dog eat dog. Sometimes however, friendships are being created in the world of film directors, producers, distributors and investors. Nevertheless, deep conversations and real exchange are rare experiences. Most of the time one feels to be alone with a project or an idea.
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a place where one could meet up colleagues in a very relaxing atmosphere?
Make new contacts, exchange opinions and develop ideas, at least once per year? Without having to hurry to the next meeting... A couple of hours every day to listen to colleague filmmakers, producers, and other professionals from all over the world, having conversations with them like one does have with friends? Informally continue the conversations in the evenings?

The International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg is famous for its intimate atmosphere encouraging real encounters. Starting November 2010 there will be a new FESTIVAL ACADEMY.
Accredited directors, producers and other industry professionals will be invited to join the FESTIVAL ACADEMY for a few days. All fellow directors, producers, distributors, actors and other guests of the festival will have free access and are encouraged to participate in this professional yet intimate exchange.
For once, this event will not be about direct business - but about real experiences.
