For the best film with a minimum length of 60 minutes.


Josef-von-Sternberg Award
For the best unconventionally narrated feature film.


Special Mention of the International Jury 

For a remarkable film with outstanding acting, photography, music, etc.


Film Ducat

Film Ducats were awarded from 1958 - 1989 for the best film in five different categories, issued by the International Jury.


Special Award for the Best Television Film

Awarded by the International Jury.


Special Award for a film committed to sociopolititical issues 

Award for a film with a minimum length of 45 minutes, standing out for sociopolitical commitment.  


Special Prize of the International Filmweek

Issued by the Filmweek of Mannheim from 1985 - 1988, considering the large number of good films in the program, which could only be partially taken into account by the International Jury. 


Main Award - Third World Competition

Award for feature films, documentaries and short films made in the "Third World", called out by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.


The International Film Critics' Prize

The FIPRESCI-Jury award their prize.


Best environmentally critical film (Krempelmarkt Prize)

Special Prize for the best environmentally critical Film, donated by the citizens' initiative "Krempelmarkt".


Interfilm Award

Issued by the INTERFILM-Jury of the International Protestant Work Group Film. 


Catholic Work Group Film

Prize for the best film, issued by the Jury of the Catholic Work Group Film.
